PILSNER URQUELL
We tap unpasteurized pilsner lager Pilsner Urquell. With tank technology, Pilsner Urquell beer is not drawn from classic barrels, but from larger, original stainless steel tanks with a volume of 5 or 10 hl. Unpasteurized beer imported from the Pilsen brewery in a thermally insulated tank is poured into an impermeable sterile bag inside the tank. This system is technically called “bag-in-box”. The golden juice is tapped by pressing air on the bag.

History
In 1842, the true original was born
In October 1842, the brewer Josef Groll brewed a completely different beer than was customary in Pilsen until then. They mostly went through top fermentation and were of unstable quality. But in Pilsen, Groll applied his knowledge of brewing bottom-fermented lager, that is, beer produced with the help of bottom yeast at temperatures of around 10 ˚C, which he finally leaves to lie down and mature for 30 days. Which is why it’s called a lager.
